Abstract
Intellectual property plays an increasingly important role in corporate strategy and development. Therefore, the valuation of intellectual property has become more important than ever. In this talk, Mr Mayank Vaid will share his experience and thoughts on the techniques for valuing intellectual property in the dispute resolution process. By focusing on trademark disputes, he will examine the major issues such as whether damages should be calculated on the basis of the defendant’s profits, losses by the plaintiff, or reasonable royalties. Moreover, he will consider whether the plaintiff may also claim punitive damages and other damages that could be awarded for loss of reputation.
